Festival: Filmfare Awards

In 1954, the Indian film industry saw the inception of the prominent Filmfare Awards. The awards were introduced to recognize outstanding talent in bollywood. The winners of the awards were announced on the basis of popular votes polled by the readers of the Filmfare magazine. The film ‘1942: A Love Story’ (directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra) bagged many awards in various categories.
