he Mirchi Music Awards are presented annually by Radio Mirchi to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Hindi language film music industry of India. The awards, given in seventeen different categories, were instituted to award the best of 2008. In 2010, the Southern edition of the awards - Mirchi Music Awards South was launched,to award the best of 2009.through which artists from the four South Indian film industries—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam—are being honoured.

It was one of the brightest nights ever as the 5th edition of Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards 2013 rocked the entertainment hub Mumbai in the presence of the crème de lcrème of the music and film fraternity at Yash Raj Studio. Like every year, this year too Radio Mirchi felicitated and honored the best musical talent of the Hindi film industry across 23 categories. The event witnessed performances by some of the biggest talents that wowed the audiences.
The host for the evening was none other than the effervescent Ayushmann Khurrana. The highlights of the evening include electrifying live performances by Mika Singh and Himesh Reshammiya. Mohit Chauhan moved the hearts with his soulful songs.  The popular yesteryear jodi Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu enthralled the audiences with their hit romantic duets.
While these veterans delighted the audiences with some foot tapping songs, the event also speckled the new stars on the horizon like Neeti Mohan, Shalmali Kholgade and Mamta Sharma showcasing their repertoire.
The show stealer of the evening was the unique act which was a tribute to one of the finest actor, singer, host and icon of the Indian Film Industry - Amitabh Bachchan - by some of the most renowned names of the industry like Shreya Ghoshal, Sonu Nigam, Mika Singh, Himesh Reshammiya, Alka Yagnik, Kumar Sanu, Mohit Chauhan, Sajid-Wajid, Pritam, Annu Mallik and Salim-Sulaiman. This was a special tribute to the man whose baritone voice is not only synonymous with some of the greatest dialogues, but also to some of the most popular songs in Bollywood!
