The Godachi fair is a most important fair of Karnataka. This fair is organized in Godachi village of the state by the government of Karnataka. The village is located near Ramdurg Taluk in Belgaum District of Karnataka. This fair is held in honor of Shri Veerabhadra.
Shri Veerabhadra is believed to be one of the imperative accompaniment spirits of Lord Shiva.
It is said that Shri Veerabhadra is born out of Shiva's hair lock and the deity is worshipped in temples at different places with great devotion.
Godachi fair marks the tribute of the devotees to this deity.
Godachi Fair is celebrated during the month of Kartik of the Hindu calendar which comes on the month of October or November.
