Additional awards will be presented in ceremonies in Los Angeles on April 20 and in San Francisco on May 11.

Anderson Cooper was presented with The Vito Russo Award by Madonna. The award is named after Russo, who helped found GLAAD and wrote a book about gay people in the movie called "The Celluloid Closet.
According to GLAAD, the Vito Russo Award is given to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equality.Ricky Martin, Rosie ODonnell and Elton John have all won the award in the past.
The awards recognize and honor media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives," according to the advocacy group's website.
