Ashok Ashtami fair is celebrated eighth day of the waxing moon period in the month of Chaitra. Fairs and celebrations are held at temples and other sacred places. Among these, the Unakoti Tirtha fair is very famous and attracts lakhs of devotees from the eastern part of India.

Huge celebration is held at Unakoti Tirtha of Kailashahar Subdivision, in Tripura. Special pujas are performed to God and Goddess images engraved on hill rocks.
