51st Filmfare Awards, 2006

The 51st Filmfare Awards took place on February 25, 2006 at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Javed Jaffrey, Lara Dutta, Pooja Batra, and Tabu were the hosts for the special night. Black(Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansalli) received the most number of awards, including those for the Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Actress. The story of the film is partially set up on the true life story of Helen Keller. It was also selected as one of the 10 Best Movies of the Year 2005 from across the globe by Time Magazine (Europe).
