The 49th award ceremony was held on 20th February in Mumbai. The film ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ (directed by Nikhil Advani) won several awards for the year. It was the second top-grossing movie in India as well as in the overseas market for that year. The categories and the winners for the year 2004 are:
