42nd Filmfare Awards, 1997

The 42nd Filmfare Awards were held on 23 February at SNDT University in Mumbai. Sanjana Kapoor was the host for the glamorous evening. The film ‘Khamoshi: The Musical’ (directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali) grabbed several awards for the year. ‘Khamoshi’ is one of the critically acclaimed Indian bollywood films, which was released on 9 August 1996. Though the film won several awards for various categories, it flopped at the box office. Here is the list of winners and the categories of awards for the year 1997.
