Posted On: 10 Jul, 2013| Festival: Filmfare Awards

The Filmfare awards were kicked off in the year 1954 and are therefore also considered as one of the oldest in the Indian film industry. The awards were introduced to acknowledge the most talented artists in bollywood. The film ‘Sparsh’ (directed by Sai Paranjpye) swept off several awards in various categories this year. The film is about the plight of the blind, particularly focusing on the lives and feelings of blind children. The title of the film - ‘Sparsh’ (aptly given) - refers to the sensation and feeling of touch upon which blind people rely, in the absence of sight.
