Chandrabhaga Fair in 2013 will be celebrated from 16th to 18th November.

The State of Rajasthan has so many attractions for tourists with its many palaces, temples and monuments and many fairs and festivals that celebrate the culture and traditions of the region. The Chandrabhaga Fair is cattle fair held every November on the banks of the Chandrabhaga River, in Jhalrapatan, Jhalawar district of Rajasthan. The month of Karthik, which comes in November-December according to the English calendar, is considered holy in Hindu traditions, which is also an auspice from ions time for bathing in holy rivers. The Chandrabhaga River is a river that holds special significance for the people of this region. They consider taking a dip in this holy river during the month of Karthik as one of their foremost duties. Thus, devotees flock here in their thousands during this period. Karthik Poornima or the full moon day in the month of Karthik is a very special day for devotees as this is considered a very sacred day for bathing in the Chandrabhaga River.

The month of Karthik is a time of pilgrimage and attracts a lot of visitors to this region. The cattle fair takes advantage of the influx of visitors from farming communities of many regions. Camels, cows, horses, buffaloes and bullocks are traded here. It is a huge fair, and traders attend it even from some neighboring states such as Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.
